Dull Lake - A Jewel in the Crown of Kashmir

Generally as we start talking about the lakes it creates a tingling feeling of excitement. Dull Lake is a beautiful combination of peacefulness, natural beauty. The lake is situated in Srinagar. Dull Lake is famous about its calm and decent environment. The lake is decorated with the glorious surroundings. It is the lifeline of Srinagar.

Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Even now days the state is suffering from terrorist but then also it is point of attraction among the tourist in the world, as it is called the second heaven on the earth.

Dull Lake is about 18 km long and beautifully situated between the big mountains. It has the present environment in winters when the temperature goes down till -12 degree. During summers the lake is fully covered with the lotus and is the winters its beauty is enhanced by snow.

These houseboats also give the opportunity to reside on lake to enjoy memorable moments. With the help of dull Lake Water number of vegetables is grown.

What surrounds the Dull Lake?
Surroundings of the lake are covered by the sloppy roofed houses which give the perfect picture of mountain. Large amount of gardens and orchards increase the beauty of lake. The campus of university of Kashmir is also located near the shore of lake. It is also surrounded by number of Mughal gardens.

Dull lake with dark future
From the perfect history Dull Lake is declining day by day. The lake is supposed to be the haven of earth but day by day its gloom is decreasing. Lake is suffering from dull time now days. Due to unwanted activities in Kashmir the reputation of lake is harming. Several robbery incidents are taking place in the lake. Its water is also not as pure as in the past.
